The Community Board Handbook was written for members of New York City's 59 Community Boards, but it contains a wealth of information of interest to the general public, particulary in land use matters.

This is the 1994 edition and more recent material may be available from the City. These files are in Adobe Acrobat format, so you will need the free Adobe Acrobat reader (see http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html) which may be configured as a browser plug-in or as a separate application.

These files contain approximately 48 pages apiece and each one is approximately 2 megabytes.
