Community "TEACH-IN" on Columbia University's Proposed Bio-Research Lab

Community "TEACH-IN"
on Columbia University's Proposed Bio-Research Lab
on August 17th, 2005.**

What do Anthrax, Ebola, HIV/AIDS and SARS have in common?
They are all deadly viruses and bacteria that could be studied at the kinds of bio-research labs proposed in the Columbia University expansion in Manhattanville.

WE ACT for Environmental Justice presents a community "teach-in" about bio-research labs:
Are they safe? Who regulates the research performed in the labs? How can communities organize to hold these labs more accountable? We should not be left in the dark when our lives and the lives of our families are at risk.

Columbia University must acknowledge our communities Right to Know whether our Health, our Community, or our Environment is at risk!
