HARLEM TEXTILE WORKS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
TEMPORARY POSITION

Administrative Assistant sought to work with Board of Directors of Harlem
Textile Works (HTW) during a transitional phase of major development and
program growth. HTW is a social enterprise that creates career opportunities
for underserved students and artists interested in urban-based textile arts
and fabric design by providing arts education, professional internships and
entrepreneurial experience. Founded in 1984 as a venture of the Children�s
Art Carnival�, HTW is a small non-profit set to grow with the upcoming
renovation of a 2,000 square foot storefront office/workshop/retail space that
will provide visibility and space to offer educational workshops and the
retailing of HTW products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

� Manage update of Web site and organization�s database
� Coordinate fundraising, recruitment, and alumni mailings
� Manage logistics for Board meetings and upcoming event(s)
� Research grants and write proposals
� Assist with recruiting process, conducting outreach for applicants to the
program
� Catalogue artwork
� Maintain filing systems and office supplies.
� Screen telephone calls, answer routine questions, and take messages.
� Performs any other related duties or special projects as directed by the
Board

QUALIFICATIONS

� Administrative experience in nonprofit setting or transferable business
experience.
� Excellent data entry, time management and organizational skills
� Familiarity with Microsoft Office, DonorPerfect or similar fundraising
database, and Adobe Photoshop
� Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
� Excellent understanding of computers
� Good verbal and written communication.
