A 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest during a fight on an upper Manhattan subway platform this morning, police said.

The victim was arguing with a man on the downtown platform of the A and C lines at the 145th St. station in Hamilton Heights, police said.

The boy staggered to a police booth within the station before collapsing, leaving a pool of blood on the ground just after 8 a.m.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, officials said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening. His name was not released by police.

After the stabbing, the suspect ran off and remains at large. It was not immediately clear what sparked the attack.

Calico Dec 18, 2007 9:05:05 PM Report Offensive Post A long time ago, kids were taught to respect elders; today, kids can't wipe their rear-end but demand that adults respect THEM; meanwhile, they aren't even old enough to legally consent to sexual activity with an adult, buy alcoholic breverages or cigarettes, or serve in the military or pay taxes & they want to be cuddled by mommy & daddy. Did it occur to anyone to hear or know what really happened? 4 kids taller than me jumped me, stabbed me in my hip; I defended myself & hospitalized 3 (& the cops HIT ME) & they TRY to press charges on me! Good thing there were witnesses or I would've been labeled a child abuser when those thugs tried to mug me in the subway on my way home from college! Find out some facts before you put your foot & leg in your mouth!

A 14-year-old boy was stabbed three times during a fight on an upper Manhattan subway platform during Tuesday's morning rush, police said.

The boy was arguing with another teen on the downtown platform of the A and C lines at the 145th St. station in Hamilton Heights about 8 a.m., police said. The suspect then stabbed the victim in the torso, chest and right arm, police said.

The 14-year-old staggered to a transit police booth in the station before he collapsed. His attacker, whom he identified as a 16-year-old boy who went to a nearby high school, is believed to have escaped on a departing train.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. He told investigators he knew his attacker.

The victim's name was not released because he is a juvenile, police said.
