Home Improvement Contractors Expo

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) presents a Home Improvement Contractors Expo on Wednesday, July 20, 2005. The expo will include:

HPD's Housing Education Services/Lead Education Program will discuss existing laws: Local Law I, New York City's Lead Paint Hazard Reduction Law, and Local Law 7, New York City's Carbon Monoxide Law.


Occupational Safety and Health Administration experts will review worker safety issues and concerns.

Environmental Protection Agency representatives will provide information on certified lead paint courses required for performance of lead paint remediation and abatement work at reduced costs.

The Department of Consumer Affairs will give information on licensing and law enforcement procedures that affect the home improvement contractor.

The Department of Buildings will talk about home improvement licenses and permits.
The Department of Small Business Services will discuss the assistance they provide to small businesses, as well as the Locally Based Enterprise Program and The Minority Women Business Enterprise Certification.

NYSERDA will explain how to participate in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR � Program and the ENERGY STAR� Labeled Homes Program.

The Home Improvement Contractors Expo will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in lower Manhattan at 100 Gold Street, Room 1R, New York, NY 10038.
